This basic online drum set is an extremely simple utility which has been created in order to allow drummers to try out simple drum tabs (tablature). How does it work? | FAQ | There are 32 columns (32 possible beats) and 7 rows of ellipses (7 instruments). A single white ellipse represents one instrument strike. The instruments are shown on the left and time at the top. Click on one of the ellipses and it will change colour, showing that you have selected that instrument to play at that moment. Click it again to turn it off. Press START to start the Drum Tab Tester playing. The number shown in the middle of the red squares will cycle from 0 to 32 and loop until you press STOP or RESET. What kit did you use to sample the sounds? | FAQ | The drum sounds used in the Drum Tab Tester were recorded using the Roland V-Club Electronic Drum Set. The tom was from the ROSEWOOD drum set and the rest of the instruments were from the ROCKIT kit. How do I load and save tabs? | FAQ | You can't load or save your own tabs. This version of the Drum Tab Tester is simplicity itself. We just wanted to create something that would give us instant results when browsing drum tabs, which is what we've achieved. What is a tab? | FAQ | The word "tab" is short for "tablature" which is a method of notation for musical instruments. Usually applied to stringed instruments, it indicates a tone with notation referring to the finger and string used to create it. In the case of drum tablature, each symbol represents the striking of a drum or percussion instrument.
